Malware Hash Fox is a plugin for Mozilla Firefox Web Browser compatible with most Operating Systems (Windows,Linux,Mac). The plugin will scan every downloaded file for presence of computer viruses and trojans using the malwarehash.com online service.

Malware Hash Fox is a Firefox add-on to search for viruses in downloaded files. To check for viruses, the online service at malwarehash.com is used. An MD5 hash calculated from the downloaded file is searched for in the databased for known infected hashes. If a virus is found, it is possible to see the details and automatically delete it.
Usage
The add-on, when active, automatically scans for viruses without any user intervention. It shows the result below the download status for a download item in the Download Manager. If a virus is detected, a link to the details of the infection and an option to delete the download are provided.
Preferences
Preferences for the add-on can be accessed in two ways.
1) In the Add-on Manager, the context menu that comes up by right clicking on the add-on will contain an option for preferences.
2) In Firefox Options (Preferences in GNU/Linux), Security tab, there is a group in the end for Malware Hash Fox. Clicking on the Settings button there will bring up Malware Hash Fox preferences.
There are two preferences:
1) "Enable searching the downloaded file for viruses" is meant to enable/disable the automatic scanning functionality of Malware Hash Fox.
2) "Automatically delete virus infected downloads" is for enabling Malware Hash Fox to delete a virus infected file from the disk as soon as virus is found.
HOW TO INSTALL:
From Add-on Manager:
1) Open Add-on Manager from Tools menu
2) Goto "Get Add-ons" tab
3) Search for "Malware Hash Fox" in search box
4) Select "Malware Hash Fox" from the results and click on the "Add to Firefox" button
5) Agree to the install warning dialog
6) Restart Firefox
